These are photographs of sexual assault victims in the same (or similar) clothes and in the same (or similar) locations in which they were assaulted. Through this body of work, I want to focus on the fact that it doesn’t matter what a woman is wearing, it doesn’t mean she’s “asking for it.” Often times, it is extremely difficult for women to come forward about their experiences with sexual assault, and it is important to stop certain reactions that could potentially make women feel like they can’t tell anyone about what they've been through. “She was asking for it” is a phrase that should not be taken into consideration when discussing sexual assault.
